God, why don't they make a frakking movie already ? Instead they choose to kill us with all their teasing. Damn, that is cold!
This is the trailer for this summers' biggie movie, 'The Clash of the Titans'. The 1981 mythological fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans is resurrected in this March 2010 remake from Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier and veteran writer Lawrence Kasdan. The joint Legendary Films/Warner Bros. production focuses on Perseus (Sam Worthington), the mortal hero made to carry out a series of quests by the gods in order to win the hand of the imprisoned princess Andromeda.
Judging from the trailer, it looks bigger and meaner than 300, my most favorite action movie. Though I personally think that Gerard Butler, the 'Spartan King' would simply have kicked major ass as the hero Perseus, Sam Worthington, who is getting majorly noticed after Terminator Salvation and Avatar, is also a good choice.
The setting of background rock music to these historical fantasy epics has worked wonders. The music simply is fantastic. The 'Damn The Gods' bit is also a great touch, don't you think ?
Well, I am really looking forward to this summer, what about you?
It's sci-fi gaming at its greatest as we get a taste of this truly awesome E3 09 trailer for the upcoming shooter, Section 8. The rate at which the Video Game industry is growing, technologically, and talent-wise, the day isn't far that hollywood is left biting the dust.
Now, we all agree that these shorts released by Bungie are better than any hollywood movie that has come and gone so far. With the epic material that is the Halo universe, and the sheer amounts of money they have pumped into making a videogame, I am shocked that hollywood hasn't picked up on the franchise still. Watch this video 'short' that was made as part of their advertising, of all things, and you'll understand just what they can do with a full length feature film. My God, just imagine all the possibilities...
Real love, real affection.

This ad is beautiful , I loved it. Really powerful and touching.
Why does this Advert reach out ?
1. Simple concept
2. Play on strong human emotions
3. Haunting background score
4. Features actors resembling normal people in everyday life
There are many more reasons for the success of this advert, but I am only able to think of the above at short notice. I really am glad that the people behind this advert did not use a "Celebrity" or a "Glamorous" model to preach about the Awareness of Cancer. There are one too many public service advertisements where celebrities strut around on TV blabbering about the awareness of the subject in question. In these times where anyone who is deemed a celebrity has been overexposed in the media, the power of celebritydom has lost its ability to capture attention.
The above advertisement for Cancer awareness uses the common man concept and the innocence of childhood, ably bolstered by a haunting background score, to put together a really fantastic story, which will tug at your heartstrings. The Indian Admakers can take an inspiration or two from Adverts like this. Instead of just propping up whatever celebrity they can afford and make them mouth a few lines, they ought to back their creative departments and tell them to show some....uh...creativity.

Now, this is what I would call an opening sequence, absolutely incredible. Video game makers have made the trailer and the always craved opening sequence something of an art form. I tell ya, they keep getting better and better, while the ones who are supposed to excel in this, Hollywood, have completely lost the plot. If Hollywood cannot hold audience attention for a trailer spanning a couple of minutes, what hope is there for the movie? Seems the movie industry can take a few cues from the gaming industry.
Well, this trailer from Blizzard's Starcraft 2 (official cinematic trailer) is one of the best I've seen, yet, except for the fucking idiotic cigar smoking bit even with the helmet locked on towards the end.
Being a person possessing a mind of somewhat creative bent, notwithstanding the fact that I work in the wonderful world of Branding, I am quite peeved at myself that I didn't think of this much earlier. Last Friday, during the course of browsing the web for some creative inspiration, I came across this cracker of a post from Jane on her blog 'dearjanesample'.
Jane had this 'obvious but never realized' idea to keep track of all the brands she interacts with on a typical Friday. It is one of these ideas that every modern blogger stumbles upon and is really mad at themselves for not coming up with this on their own. In fact, this method is quite interesting to take note of all the brands you encounter on a daily basis. It is in fact, quite astonishing to see how many brands we use in the course of a typical day.
The toothbrush you use? Google? Your breakfast? The cigarettes you smoke? Your soap? Try to think of all the brands you encounter everyday. Your computer brand is quite obvious, but do not be surprised to see a staggering number of logos surrounding you that you aren't necessarily are aware of. As a matter of rule, we do tend to take a lot of things for granted when they are so deeply rooted into our subconscious.
Creating a list of logos I interacted with in a timeline was quite eye-opening since I now see what brands obviously get a lot of attention (meaning - A load of cash into their bank accounts) and it was really surprising to realize how many brands I didn’t think about at all!
This 'list' would serve as a visual representation of your typical day in 'Brand Terms'. In branding and advertising parlance, its called a Brand Timeline Portrait. I chose Saturday, the following day of reading Jane's post, and as I was creating the list it became pretty clear to me that this thing was going to take quite a bit of time (its a very long, long list of logos). But it also served as a reaffirmation of my personality traits as it does reveal a lot about me.....

I think we can have some fun with this, I urge everyone who reads this post to draw up their OWN DAY IN BRANDS. It’s fun and who knows what will turn up?
So if you have your own blog, post your Brand Timeline Portrait and just make a link back to my story.
Advertisements for social and public health issues tend to generate a lot of creativity, a lot. It is often one finds that the Advertisements highlighting these social and health issues actually are a great deal more creative than the adverts of any other. And none has been the beneficiary of greater creativity than the biggest health issue of all till date, AIDS. Over the years there have been hundreds, thousands even, of Advertisements trying to create awareness for AIDS; and a good many among them are truly works of art. What I mean to say, instead of going on and on like this is that on a recent search I found these Adverts for AIDS awareness to be most stimulating.

This is a really good advert for the Singapore Breast Cancer society, that seeks to spread awareness of Breast Cancer. By 'really good', I mean that, though the 'advice' slipped in this advert may seem a bit offensive to some women, nobody can deny the truth in it. I believe it.
Watch it and find out for yourself.

This is an older advert for the Adidas - Impossible is nothing campaign.
The crux of this advert is that if a whole army cannot stop the man wearing Adidas, then truly, Impossible is nothing. A very cool ad, seems Adidas is sticking to its strategy of creating , exaggerated, big budget, over-hyped advertisements to push good, but still ordinary products instead of using at least a portion of that money to bring down the prices. It is a shame, really.

This is an Advert for Heineken Beer.
Jennifer Aniston, one of my favorite actresses is starring in this.For those blokes who lived under a rock all these years and didn't know who she is;
Jennifer Aniston is one of the main casts of the All time greatest ever sitcom - 'Friends'. She was the one who acted as 'Rachel'.

The Apple iPhone is one heck of a mobile. There has not been any other mobile, or for that matter, any other gadget in the entire history of mankind that does even half of what this mobile can do. Apple has really upped the ante this time, and it seems that the competition can never come close.

P.S : I meant the original Godfather movies by Francis Ford Coppola and acted out by great actors such as Marlon Brando, Robert deNiro, Al Pacino etc. I would never mention a Mindless Masala movie that was released in tamilnadu by K.S.Ravikumar starring Ajith. Goddamn, what a waste that movie was.
